Spring into Summer with Rhoades Car

The question we hear frequently is “How did the Prince Harry PR work out for you?” (For those of you who missed it, Prince Harry rode a Rhoades Car at the grand opening of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London on April 4th.) I just got back from the regular meeting of Hendersonville, TN manufacturers and fielded that question three times. The official answer is, it worked out GREAT with many new friends finding the Rhoades Car Facebook page and website! It especially worked out well with the Royal Spring Special in May that offered free shipping or $500 in free upgrades, as this caused many of our new friends to become Rhoades Car owners. However, that was a special promotion and promotions do have to come to an end. BUT . . . it doesn’t mean we can’t have another promotion that’s equally as fun!

Our “Spring into Summer” promotion until June 30th provides a choice between a Visa, Home Depot or Amazon gift card or an even greater amount of free upgrades, so it is easier than ever to join the elite club of Rhoades Car Owners.

But don’t stop there. While you are on our website checking out this new promotion, don’t miss the new blogs we’ve been posting.

Nashville CBS affiliate picks up Prince Harry story

And the beat goes on!

Yesterday was another exciting day at Rhoades Car as the NewsChannel 5 (WTVF) swarmed our factory interviewing us and shooting pictures and video. Imagine our amazement when our story wound up as the lead story on the 5:00 news.

Our challenge to the Mayor of Nashville still stands.  If Prince Harry and the Mayor of London can ride a Rhoades Car, why can’t he? What do you say Mayor Dean?

Of course, we couldn’t let them leave without a group shot of the news team and some of our employees: L to R: Lawrence Vivenzio (sales), Holly Skinner (customer service), Chris Spann (master builder), Holden Thompson (builder), Phyllis Shelton (co-owner), Alex Lucas (cameraman/producer), Lena Rose (assistant) and reporter Adam Ghassemi. Rhoades Car Official Greeter Jackson is the focal point, don’t you agree?

British Royalty Takes a Spin on a Rhoades Car Quadracycle

For Immediate Release

April 8, 2014

HENDERSONVILLE, TN — April 8, 2014 — Britain’s Prince Harry opened the new Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London on Friday and took a spin on a USA-Made Rhoades Car quadracycle.

“It was really quite a surprise when we heard about the story in USA Today and then saw the BBC video of Prince Harry riding our 2-person Rhoades Cycle Car.  We couldn’t be more delighted to have someone as famous and affable as Prince Harry ride one of our quadracycles – and for such a great cause,” according to Bill Pomakoy, President of Rhoades Car International.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is the newest and largest park in London and its mayor, Boris Johnson, commented “This is going to be a quite astonishing place to come and bring your family.”

The 2-person Rhoades Cycle Car was brought to the park by non-profit Bikeworks LPrince Harryondon and Motivate East, a free inclusive sports participation project for disabled people. “Our customers are people of all ages who like the stability of having four wheels under them.  The beauty of our products is that almost everybody can ride a Rhoades Car.  If you think about it, it’s how Henry Ford started in the early 1900’s,” Pomakoy added.

Rhoades Car International, headquartered in Hendersonville, Tennessee, offers a unique line of 1, 2 and 4-person quadracycles with multiple speeds and an optional motor that provides sustainable transportation for families and industry, helps fight obesity, and provides a way for disabled people to exercise safely either alone or with loved ones or caregivers.  Celebrating its 23rd year in business in 2014, the company relies on local suppliers that share the high quality craftsmanship philosophy to produce custom components for all of its 4-wheel “quad” bikes – proudly made in the USA!

How did this possibly happen? It started with a sale to Bikeworks UK which was then picked up by Motivate East, a free inclusive sports participation project for disabled people who engaged Prince Harry and Mayor Boris Johnson in the video below. (Go to 1:04 in the video for The Ride)

The story has been covered in USA Today and BBC News.…great press for an American made product, don’t you think? We think they handled it pretty well, considering the steering is on the wrong side for them!

A Challenge for Our Mayor
